THE SUV that first broke the mould to offer saloon-like handling, the BMW X5 was a super-successful import in India. Now, with BMW establishing a strong foothold in the country, it plans to bring the new second-generation X5 here as a CBU. The new car is even better than its predecessor as a round going SUB and now offers the option of seven seats. As with all BMWs, the car is loaded with equally-large helpings of technology and luxury, but with a focus on driving dynamics. Expect the Indian range to be comprised of the 3.0-litre diesel and the 4.8-litre petrol V8.
