THE FACE-LIFTED Getz is chugging along at a moderate clip on the sales charts. But the addition of a diesel could change all this, and give it a big advantage over the smaller Swift. Hyundai was the first caretaker to put into a car below Rs 20 lakh and it has a good deal of expertise with diesel motors in India now. The diesel Getz will also be more competitively priced as the car qualifies for the small car excise sop. Hyundai has the choice of using an 87bhp ver­sion of the Verna engine, the more likely option, or a more potent 108bhp version.
