The prestigious Farnborough International Airshow held in the UK between July 14 and 20 saw the display of Air India’s latest Boeing 777-300ER, christened Jammu and Kashmir.

With 342 seats in three class configuration, the aircraft offers comfortable seats that transform into flat beds in the First and Executive Class, buddy seats in the First Class and unmatched legroom in the Economy Class. In addi­tion, there is a state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system and the latest passenger amenities, including high fidelity noise cancellation Bose head­phones for First and Executive Class passengers, wall-mounted satellite phones and PC power, USB/RJB ports in each seat.

First and Executive Class passen­gers can have their meals on gold-rimmed Noritake fine bone china with matching gold-plated cutlery. Each First and Executive Class passenger is provided a soft duvet and is presented complimentary Pierre Cardin night­wear and amenity kit.

Air India has received 10 of the 23 Boeing 777s ordered. While non-stop flights have been introduced from Mumbai and Delhi to New York, the B777-300ERs have been deployed for direct flights between India and New York via London. As more B777- 300ERs are inducted, Air India will deploy these for operating services from India to multiple points in USA via a European hub.

All Airbus A321 and A319 aircraft, fly­ing out of Mumbai to Delhi and vice-versa, are equipped with the latest, state-of-the-art Thales i-3000 in-flight entertainment system. Relax with your choice of music on the 12 audio channels or catch a film on any of the five video channels that screen Hollywood and Bollywood hits, music videos and popular soaps in Hindi and English. A DVD channel screens films in regional languages with English subtitles. A321s are deployed for other metro sectors as well.
