STAR POWER: There are pages
after pages in Ayurveda on the benefits of amla. It’s called ‘sarva dosha har’
(removes all diseases). Amla is a very big source of vitamin C, even after drying
the fruit. No other fruit has this property, it builds the capacity of the liver,
which is the seat of digestion and health it reduces weight by improving the
body’s ability to digest food. It pacifies and cuts down acidity and the effects
of over eating. It improves skin and hair, blood sugar controls and cholesterol
control. Amla contains lots of vitamins C and B, calcium, phosphorus, iron and
carotene.
PRACTICAL CONSUMPTION: You can have amla powder, triphala,
amolarasayan and amla chutney. All dried forms are to be taken with water according
to your body-type, but not more than half a teaspoon daily.
PRECAUTIONS: Avoid if you have active stomach ulcers.
